Hi,
This is my first post.

I have been creating WH (with a touch of gray) sites in the past; several of my sites have excellent rankings with Google, which of course I don't want to loose.

I am considering starting some BH activities (multiple blogs, back links, pyramids, etc).

My idea is NOT to mix my BH and WH sites; all stuff created with BH techniques would be directed to new BH sites I would create.

Question:
Should I be concerned with the possibility of Google detecting my BH work and punish my Wh work?
Can I safely visit and work on my WH sites and, using the same machine (and same Google accounts), visit and work on my BH sites?

Can you recommend any precautious measures?

TIA.

you know ... it's a word '' what happens on vegas stay in vegas '' so ... where's the point to mix your wh sites with bh ones ?

Hi,
My intention is to NOT mix WH and BH sites (no crosslinking, no content reusing, etc).

However, I wonder how paranoic I should be in separating my sites.

E.g.: I have some WH sites in wordpress.com; I noticed that wordpress blogs are used in link farms. I will probably have to move constantly between my WH and BH wordrpess sites.
Can Google detect it (actually, I am almost certain they can)? Has anybody ever been penalized for doing that?

I have a spare machine I could use exclusively for my BH activities. Is it recommended, unnecessary or too paranoic?

If you install google toolbar, it sends back browse activity, so don't use it for both.

Google analytics, don't span

IP, don't span.

Cookies, clear them

Probably don't need two machines if you can do the above

Adsense, don't share!!!

Gmail, don't use for your BH

Domain reg. use different name/address

A little overkill in my opinion. I just clear my cookies and cache, blank out to a new IP, and be sure not to co-mingle accounts. As far as the different names and addresses on domain registrations and such, if you're not breaking the law, you're probably fine to just go with privacy protection.

Incidentally, and of note - I basically use one analytics account to track everything. It would be too much of a pain in the arse to constantly be switching around. However, don't stick all your adsense in one account if you've got a mix of WH/BH going on. That would just be silly.

Ok, agreed. I suspect someone doing WH would not do massive BH, probably only GrayHat. So don't need to go overboard.. unless you are like Howie Shwartz with the theory that if you are not getting banned, you are not trying hard enough. But that is a big leap for WH guy.
