Seriously fuck off with these shitty threads already, i see on a daily basis at last 3-4 shitty threads like this one, about various methods/techniques getting dead in 201x, people are you seriously that much stupid ? How could SEO get dead ? The only thing that Google can start doing is to fast deindex sites with auto approval ******** links and deindex all sites which had links there, which means that blackhat seo would become harder and shorter term, but still neither that will die, it can just become a little bit harder - it can't die. If SEO would die then it would means that search engines wouldn't relay on how much links does one site have, if they wouldn't relay on that anymore, what else could prove them that the site is popular and worth it's ranking ? Sure, social signals are important but definitely google will not start ranking the sites according to their popularity on other company web sites such as facebook.

There will ALWAYS be SOMEONE first in the serps (well yes it's mostly paid ads these days though..).

And the means to get there can be replicated.

And that is called SEO.

And that won't die.

SEO will not exists in 4014. Or maybe 3014.
Because at that time Earth can be already destroyed by alien warfare, corporate warfare, nuclear exchange, stray meteorites, swallowed by giant snake, destroyed by the gods, or generally dies because some people eat too much and die and some people don't eat and they die too.
 
The $hit will never die. Too many millionaires and hundred thousandaires made from good seo for it to die. Follow the money. $$$$$$$$ ;)
