Google has a hard time knowing what link is paid and what isn’t. Until very recently they introduced the sponsored tag but it’s not really widely used. Google can’t really tell if a post has been made by a “guest” or not. So this shouldn’t change much.

Now and then they come up with this scary news but I still don't believe such thing is going to happen.
How in this world are they going to find out if a guestpost is paid or earned?
Backlinking is king and will remain so.
Still you have PBN's if you want to change your strategy.

now how are google going to know which piece of content is paid for, and which one isn't?? They created the rel="sponsored" tag for a reason: to make gullible SEOers tell them that the content is a guest post, because they can't tell otherwise

Guest posts(alongside niche edits) and PBNs could be considered the most powerful backlinks a website could ever get. The only way your website could become victim of a supposed clamp down on guest post is if Google can be sure the links were paid for.
It's a waste of time and resources figuring out what links were paid for or not especially when those links are contextual, they'd rather focus on other things that improve the quality of search results.
