I tried hidemyass but they wont let me edit anything with that lol.
 
With this method, can I just edit say a quotation mark or a single character, insert my hyperlink, and benefit from that?

Who cares if they can see your IP? Those wikis are free for all. The person who created the page, isn't the legal owner or the only one who's allowed to put a link there. It's like wikipedia. It's not like you're doing something illegal when you put your link there.
Yeah maybe someone gets pissed, but so what? He can always edit the link out.

There is really no benefit to this tip at all since the links are all nofollow on wikispaces. It's a complete waste from an SEO standpoint. Anyone who says a nofollow link is still "worth it" hasn't done due diligence in that area. I have and there is no seo benefit whatsoever.

Does anyone have any idea of other wiki sites that this trick would work on that doesn't add rel="nofollow" to all external links?
 
Really great method, been using this technique for ages.

Its really a cat and mouse linkbuilding technique though, which is why I've stopped using it as a primary method.

As more and more users have become familiar, you get more and more ignorant and greedy linkbuilders that delete the whole fucking page and just add there link.

That fucks up everything for everyone. Don't go and delete the entire page and add your links, it really screws up the WHOLE game for everyone. Add your link, don't screw with the content, and don't delete other links.

Have some linkbuilding ethics when screwing with peoples Wiki's for god sakes...Oh wait...;)

I respectfully disagree here :).

I have many "no-follow" links which pops in Google Webmaster. And also, according to Traffic Travis 4.0 the best SEO juice i have from one of my website is from a no follow link.

I think you forgot the whole point of backlinking here. Why does Google care about backlinking anyway ?

Because it is a popularity indicator and when ppl share a link they doesn't care about do follow or no follow...

So, good backlinking campaign is the best fake popularity which leads to diversity

Moreover, the method here doesn't stick to wikispace only ....
 
I just love these kind of sneak attacks:)

Another tip for the other newbs: If there are already some spam links of another site in the same niche, be sure to copy the urls into a backlink checker and see if you can get some good links out of it (go after high pr/********). This can be much more time efficient than finding the pages to drop your links by yourself. Why work hard when you can let your competition do the work for you, right?
