As you all know, SEO is a practice that makes our website appear in organic search results and PPC is paid advertising technique,
where you pay whenever your ads get clicked by users. I’ve mentioned some differences between PPC and SEO.
1. Traffic and results:
In PPC, you can see the results immediately when your ad gets displayed. But it doesn’t promise long-term results.
You can see positive results until your ad runs. Your site may gain traffic even if it is not optimized well because your text ad shows up on the top of organic results.
So, gaining traffic can be easily carried out by using paid ads. But nowadays, people are using Adblockers.
Ads on Google only get about only 2-3% CTR and it has been decreasing too and the rest goes to organic searches.
In SEO, you have to perform both on-page and off-page SEO practices to make your site relevant to the search queries.
So, it takes time to see results in SEO. Traffic potential is high, but based on the ranking of the site only.
Once, if your site gets ranked on the first page, a good amount of traffic can be expected.
2. Price
The price of PPC is comparatively high than the price of SEO.
Since you have to pay a certain amount every time your ad gets clicked, the price is higher.
But you have the options to choose your budget amount.
You have to keep on spending for ads if you want more traffic to your site.
3. Effects and benefits.
Paid ads may only show short-term effects in gaining traffic. The ads will be visible to the target audience.
If the website is poor, then there may be no rise in conversion rates too. So, maintaining a proper site also plays a vital role in case of conversions.
To gain the maximum benefit of PPCs, you have to make sure that your site is good in many aspects like site structure, using HTTPS, smooth navigation, good internal linking, relevant content, products, etc., (which are also a part of SEO practices).
Even though PPC brings immediate results and a good amount of traffic, many people trust organic results.
SEO practices help in increasing your site’s quality and make it relevant for search queries.
It comparatively has a long-term effect but SEO practices can be continuously followed for the best results.
It is necessary to do a competitive analysis to check on your competitors and improve your strategies according to it, to maintain your site’s SERP ranking.
