seo unofficially dead

SEO is a sub-culture of digital marketing
which is sub-culture of digital world and business
which are sub-cultures of business and marketing
which are sub-cultures of finances
which are sub-cultures of people, societies
which are sub-cultures of beings and worlds and planets and systems of the universe.

So it can easily die and be reborn and die and be reborn.
It's so deeply in our minds we question if it even exists.
It's like "branding". Someone heard about it, but it was never proven trademarks which are symbols exist. They only function in our mind and have no strict definition.

Focus on harder, more tangible and strict stuff.

Sample comparison.

Mythical Approach to SEO:
  1. Keyword stuffing guarantees top rankings
  2. Buying thousands of low-quality backlinks boosts authority
  3. Cloaking content fools search engines
  4. Meta keywords are crucial for rankings
  5. Exact match domains automatically rank higher
  6. .com domains are the only way and you need 10000 of them
  7. Submitting to hundreds of directories improves visibility
  8. Copying top-ranking content ensures success
  9. Frequent content updates, regardless of quality, boost rankings
  10. Use wordpress that has bad reputation
  11. Use SemRush and Ahrefs to decide difficulty and competition
  12. Plan 2 months ahead
  13. Focus on vanity metrics
  14. Use 10 terms on site
  15. Use fake sales / bot language
Real Approach to SEO:
  1. Create high-quality, valuable content for users
  2. Conduct keyword research with subkeywords and subkeywords of subkeywords;
  3. Use terms naturally. Don't build artificial content for bots.
  4. Build a logical site structure with clear navigation
  5. Optimize for mobile devices and improve page speed
  6. Earn quality backlinks through great content and outreach
  7. Use descriptive, relevant titles structured by the most important stuff in page topic
  8. Ensure technical SEO elements are properly implemented
  9. Focus on killer, multi-format (video, nice pages, images, AI boosts) user experience and engagement metrics
  10. Connect a lot with social media
  11. Buy cheap domains like .eu at bulk in 1000 at once
  12. Use Wix that has stocks at NASDAQ
  13. Do multiple experiments before conclusions
  14. Plan 20 years ahead
  15. Focus on own proof of concept and verify reality yourself
  16. Train on Wix and blogger, move to big domains once you can get results on blogger and Wix
  17. Use 1000s of related terms on site
  18. Be an authentic and genuine human
Another thing is to make small, short, coherent and concise pages when it matches intent...
Intent and UX are not obvious stuff. It's about the USER.

I know people who are making 200-300k a month from SEO. What the hell are you talking about

Unpopular opinion: Yes, you are right. It is unofficially dead. People who have been doing SEO in 2016 or before can confirm this.

Before, you could make a great website about a specific topic/niche. You would make sure it is SEO onpage optimized. Then, you would start building links. And guess what? You could EXPECT a certain result. You could watch your websites ranking climbing up the ledder. Yes, there would be a Google Dance and a delay of 2-4 weeks to see results, but YOU WOULD see results. Even with shitty web2.0 backlinks that you would make on Blogspot, Wordpress, etc. you could see an effect. I have been doing this, it made me 6 figures. Then, after a couple of months, there would be a Panda, Penguin, whatever update and you would either lose or win.

Now what? You make a website, heavily optimized and you see jackshit. Indexing problem here, other problem there. Spend $500 for links, still not seeing your keywords climbing up the rankings. Now you need a high DA domain, a "trusted" domain. Your content is not king anymore. It only matters what your domain is. Google be like: Better to display shitty fake content on an authority domain than to display relevant top notch informative content on a newer domain.

I don't even want to start about their monthly or weekly updates, which are absolutely intransparent and it seems like they do not even know by themselves what they targeted or "fixed".

So yeah, SEO is unofficially dead. It became gradually worse.

Right now, I would only go into SEO to sell services. I would never create a blog or website and then hope to make 5 or 6 figures, because it will be incredibly hard and you would have to invest a lot of money in links. What I would do is I would focus on short term videos on TikTok, Reels and Shorts, because they can bring you a shit ton of audience in a very short time.
I agree!

I would quote myself but that'd be too much.

Look at the whole reality and understand interactions between all beings and systems, then start doing SEO.

You'll have a magic wand and rank / promote sites in matter of hours in 2024. It doesn't matter that you have "a ranked site" or "1000 sites ranked 1 million times each on 3rd position". Business is about getting stuff done and having broad perspective on life, being fearless. It's not ranking and analytics. But SEO is THREE perspectives too deep as indicated in the post above.

If you transfer general reality knowledge like quantum mechanics and so on to business, you're rolling 2 cities. That's like having 1 million people underneath yourself.

SEO people are like some little clan that thinks they have the ultimate insight meanwhile all they've got is huge problems with understanding.

only facebook and reddit is alive. internet is dead.

Sorry i didn't agree with you their most be google update that hit website so their ranking was decrease.

SEO strategies change a lot. What worked a few months ago might not work now. Make sure you're up to date with the latest SEO trends and algorithm updates.

It's frustrating to see sites with declining traffic, but SEO isn't dead. It's evolving, and success now requires adapting to new strategies and trends. Rather than giving up, consider updating your approach to stay effective.

It’s important to stay updated with the latest Google algorithms and regularly refresh your content, as SEO is always evolving.

No, SEO is updated with new strategies like AI and voice search, but it still works for sites that provide valuable and informative content for each user query. So it always values high-quality content.
