I am looking for someone to teach me the ropes.
I am not looking to make money via adsense or selling lists.
what I want is to bring my sales business more traffic and sales leads from google searches, facebook, twitter, etc.
I know the seo basics, blogging, backlinks, etc.- and I know there are tricks to leverage and parlay FB, but I don't know enough to be able to use the right tools at the right time in the correct format.
    Am I making sense?
Adwords sucks and has sucked my bank account dry for nothing- (keywords seemed right on) I need to try something that will organically grow and increase my traffic for a better ROI than adwords.
Trying to start locally (San Diego niche) then branch out nationally if possible.
Any help to get my feet wet are appreciated!

hang out for a while, you'll start to figure out what the right approach is for you.

Take a look at the Marketplace forums for a quick glimpse of the SEO practices most popular around here.

    Thanks Beezee,
I'll do just that for the time being. If I can't pick it up on my own, I'll have to hire someone from BHW.
    Wish me luck!!

SEO is not something that can be tutored in over night. But there are certain concepts which you can learn fast.. However it is not a math to learn or f**king confusing script.

You will learn by experience, slowly and steadily by experimenting things.

I develop gourmet flavored E-Juice for electronic cigarettes. It is really great stuff and taking off here in san diego just by word of mouth but I'd really like to be able to sell to people outside my sphere of influence.
I have a google cart checkout since it's free but have yet to sell anything through the website. I basically get calls or emails for product and generally have them come to my home to pickup. I feel more like a weed dealer than a businessman. I want to change that. ;)

Let me have a look at the site if you don't mind. I could consult with you for FREE, and give you some feedback on how to make your first sale.

Not allowed on the forum or this section? Wow I never looked into that, I was hoping to tutor newbies in turn for them to buy their tools from me :(
