New to the game..

In the past I worked for a company which got a contract with a very small family-operated SEO agency, called something like "Organic SEO - everything manually" [rough translation]

Once a week they would send us a rank report and I'd change the WordPress tags and keywords, change picture descriptions etc.

Now I wonder which tools they might have used. Even more, since some of you mentioned, that we are in chaotic times (generally.. sure, but talking about SEO now)

There's Ahref, Semrush and many more as far as I know.

To all the experts out here. Which combination of tools would give me a good headstart in 2024 (for my own sites - not to open up an agency). The knowledge might take some time, but the tools are interesting nonetheless.

topical authority and semantic SEO is the craze nowadays if you want to go white hat (which still doesn't guarantee you long term success and you can get hit at any time, for any reason, real or invented. Just so you're prepared

For semantic SEO I think SEO plugins do a pretty good job usually, but if you're not happy with those (RankMath and Yoast in particular as these are the more popular ones), I recommend tools like NeuronWriter, Frase.io, or SurferSEO. They all do similar things, ie: handle the on-page (content optimization) part of SEO.

For off-page SEO, backlinks are still always a popular choice, but if I were to be honest (which I usually am) I would say screw every white hat technique that you know and go full black hat. Google encourages cheaters and wrong-doers. Sure, you might (and most likely will still) get caught after a while, but if you manage to exploit loopholes and bank hard for 2-3 months and then spend 1 month to set everything up again, at 5% investment that's covered from your profits it will have all been worth it I think...

Also chatGPT is the craze nowadays, too. Unfortunately, I have a native aversion towards robots (and AI in general), so I am not the best person to recommend any AI strategies, but there are hoards of them on the forum, there's not one day that I don't see 1 or 2 threads started on this topic, just look them up and you'll find more than you can handle

A lot of information to digest and I will take a look at everything mentioned. I'm a little afraid of going full blackhat due to the impact on ORM it may cause longterm, but I guess I'm too cautious (in the end it's just SEO and not robbing a bank).

not an expert on black hat SEO but I'm pretty sure there are methods to game the system without ever jeopardizing your brand.
