Hi folks!

I'm doing the SEO for a local service in my country.

The fact is that we offer services in different states.

My question is:

Do you recommend creating different pages for each state? Example: " contractors in Alabama" "contractors in New York" etc.

These pages would be with similar content, just changing the name of the location.

Or it's better to just create one page? In that case, how would you "add" all the locations?

thanks in advance, I'm open to any suggestions.

Definitely - create separate pages for each location.
Make them unique and include some content that's specific to each location and relevant to the services offered. :-)

Thanks guys.
Yeah, the main problem is that Google will know it's "duplicate content", as my idea was to only change the location, but I will try to write different texts for each keyword.

Yes, you have to try and make the content unique as much as possible, list the areas, and describe the jobs done in that location and put in a main page, and try to list the most popular pages there, with a link to some of the subpages.

Awesome Panther, thanks for clarifying me :)

take a look at "dui lawyer in new york", there are few top sites, that are doing what you are asking. generic legal site, that has a DUI page for each state. see how they are doing it.

yeah as said above there are lots of examples if you just search some competitive terms in big cities, dui lawyer, locksmith, but try and think of industries that dont have a physical location if thats the same field you are shooting for as well. You will find localized content on the better sites that not only list the services in that area but also offer information about the city in relation to where it might be, small bits of localized info about the neighborhood etc.

Thanks for the tips guys!

You are right, why not see what other sites are doing in a diff niche? That's awesome.

I have read about silo strategy but never implemented it, so I will research this day about it.

Thanks again
