Seo strategy from a local company

What do you guys think of this SEO strategy? This is from a local company pitching me service. We have an aged domain with about 3k backlinks ranking average, nothing special. Im looking to outsource some work to get it moved up in search. Below is what this company recommends. Does this strategy still work well or is there areas hes missing from the equation?

Link building, I believe you have to use a mix of links like blog comments, profiles, article marketing and some on page niche links.

You need to build your own link pyramid. You can't just keep sending links to your own website. You need to create more relevant websites and SEO them to the top and have them link to your main site.

You need a good mix of links, blog posts, comments, profiles, articles, VIDEOS, forum posts and sigs.

In addition, you need to blast your links to give them juice. If you have 5000 links to your main page, 300 more links does nothing for you. But if you have

100 xrumer blast links > hubpage link > your 2nd website > main page
100 xrumer blast links > squidoo link > your 2nd website > main page
100 xrumer blast links > wordpress link > your 2nd website > main page

vs.

300 xrumer blast links > main page

300 links sent to the pyramid will boost the 2nd site serps which boosts your other site which boosts its link to your mainpage. Compare the above and think of which method gives your main page more juice.

They're either extremely brave or incredibly stupid.
How can any legitimate SEO company recommend building link pyramids
and xrumer blasts?

I personally wouldn't let them anywhere near my livelihood.
That may be ok for affiliate or CPA that you can afford to dump
but not for a legitimate business site.

might i ask what you trying to rank for? you might get more traffic from a higher google places spot than website spot. when you put in your main keyword do you get the google places 7 pack or just normal search results. you didn't mention if it was a business site or what

Most companies use these blasts but dont mention it to clients.

Yea thats not so smart. Direct link pyramids dont work like that. What works better are "link trees" That being random, and diverse links that are randomly linked to each other and the money site.

Both ideas suck. I hope you didn't go with either idea.
xrummer blasts to hubpages or squidoo.....oh man.....

Validator, targeted keywords with more than 3 words, lowering load time, etc..
Thats the main focus, then you proceed to rank with backlinks, but not that pyramid. Like all people before me told you.
Taktical suggested a nice service "Linkpushing" I totally recommend that.

I am not a fan of the approach you are asking about. You need to keep your link building structure as random and natural appearing as possible. You want the links that point directly to your money site to come from within quality content placed on non-spammy appearing websites. Invest in quality, original content whenever possible as opposed to scraped and spun articles for your tier 1 links.
