I build for myself niche sites, long term evergreen content. Failing % around 40-50 but I invest just a few hundred in each so no hard feelings, if 4 sites from 10 works, I am OK with it.
You can automate things with a Saas, selling cheap links but for mass orders.

You can easily build any sort of skilled trades business on the back of SEO while hiring sub-contractors or employees of your own.
I came across a plumbing business being sold through my chamber of commerce.
The founder was an SEO who basically ranked on the google map pack, homestars, and on the organic search.
He had limited knowledge of actually setting up any irrigation system, sprinker system, etc - but he hired people who did.
He just brought the business in through the internet, and then vetted workers who can provide his service.
The financials were quite impressive they were doing 5M in revenue annually, while having no real employees - just subcontractors.

The possibilities are endless. You could rake in goods with Adsense, do affiliates etc.
