    Hi all

    Some help please?

A year or so I played with IM but put it on the back burner as my main work was too busy! But at the time I had used 'Build my Rank' on my website and got hit badly by google!

As naive as I was then, I honestly did not understand how google worked and thought that BMR was ok! After all, all the posts that I posted were my own content and unique!

I am slowly getting back up the rankings but only by using blog posts written by myself! But it is a slow slog but I guess safe?

Now, a year ago I had and still have the following software - Market Samurai, The Best Spinner (not used), Scrapebox (not really used) Hook Pigeon (not used), Social Monkee (rarely used).

My question to the experts is, are any of these any good now? I am guessing some are a load of rubbish but at the time I was sold on them!!

There are loads of threads saying do this, do that, backlink this, blog that!

What is the safest method to get sites moving? When I use Market Samurai and see thousands and thousands of back links, you can't tell me they are all manual?! Why do they not get hit by google?

    Any help much appreciated?

    Thanks

TBS and Scrapebox are evergreen. One might use SB just for comment posting, but trust me, down the line you will use it for way different things you wouldn't have ever imagined SB could do.

    Cheers

Market Samurai, TBS and SB are all tools that I still use today. They don't necessarily have to be for black hat purposes. MS and SB at the most basic levels for you would be great for finding links or looking at competitor link profiles. There is so much more to SB as you work with it. I use TBS alot less now as I'm generally not a fan of spun content for legit white-hat sites.

Those 'thousands of links' that your competitor might have might not be manual, but they are probably done right with good diversity. That's not to say they wont be slapped in the future though.

OP, forget everything. Start with a keyword you choose and do only whitehat. try to rank your site with fresh content along with a low speed quality backlinking.

I use MS, TBS, and SB everyday. Using them does not necessarily mean Black hat. Social Monkee is OK for tiers 2 & 3, not as effective as it once was, if it ever was. I have never tried Hook Pigeon so cannot give you an eval on it.

Build a "fence" around your main site of about manually created 20 web 2.0s (this is your tier 1) with good content. Do about 10 posts each over 7-10 period with related images and videos. No links in the articles except back to your source reference article if needed. Submit about half of these from each web 2.0 to an indexing service. You can get some free trials that will be sufficient for your purpose at this point.

Then, starting in about 10 days do another new post on each web 2.0 with a related image and/or video this time with a link back to your site, preferably an inner page or post that is on topic with your web 2.0 posts.

Wait about 3-5 days and then you can use Social Monkee and scrapebox to build links to your web 2.0s posts that contain a link to your website.

I was in the same situation. Tiered link building helped me a lot to understand how to get back into google top rankings.

Tools: TBS, scrape box, ultimate demon or GSA
    + Good content
    + Tiered link building

Will help you to be in Google top rankings

Thanks so far for the advice!

Unique content is slowly helping the site!

I need to understand back linking a bit better before I start I think! At the moment I don't understand Tier 1 & 2 etc! Is this Whitehat?

Really want to get this right for the long term!!

Tier 1, Tier 2 and etc is a blackhat technique. Find thread "How to Rank Any Website In Google - 2+ Hour Video Tutorial Series".

BTW: All link building activity violates Google rules :)
