SEO software for MAC

I've started developing free Windows SEO software through my website bottopia. Since I also have a MAC I am also considering developing the same software for MAC (I've never developed for MAC before so I cant guarantee I am actually going to do it).
So I would like to know if people are interested in SEO software for MAC and if they are willing to pay for them (I am more likely to do them if people are willing to buy them than share them for free).

Since you are already publishing windows software, you should take your numbers and divide by 10 to 15. Especially for the IM niche, it could be even more. It should give you an indicator of interest.

Thanks for your reply jazzc but the way I see it there is a lot more competition in the Windows software market. But I am not sure about how interested people are in MAC software, since they can just use windows on their mac if they want...

Thats the problem mate, people use Windows and can currently get most apps tehy need for windows. They are unlikely to start using Mac software as for the most part as they generally are already using windows on their macs to use the other SEO style apps they need.

Sorry if that was hard to understand, Im tired

What I am involved at the moment is backlink tools such as comment posters, directory submitters, other tools such as email scrappers and quite possibly a key word tool (rank checking, back link checking, etc).

Why not make something using Adobe AIR. I arrow to kill all the "major" and "minor" players.

I think Adobe AIR is a good solution for both OS.

haven't considered a platform for development yet but adobe air sounds like a good idea. Microsoft silverlight is also similar from what I know. Need to check which one is more versatile and can allow this type of applications before I go on. But thanks for the idea its brilliant!

A backlinking tool for my mac would be great for the convenience but I already own Scrapebox for my PC. As for keyword research Market Samurai works fine on a mac. I'm not really sure developing IM tools for mac would generate much revenue.

Adobe AIR is brilliant. MS sucks big time.

I know not a big MS fan either but I think I can use my existing code with silverlight..
Anw I will see what a bit more people think before I start writting code..

According to OSX Daily, Mac Market Share Around the World:


USA 15%,


Canada 14%,


Australia 14%,


and more and the numbers are steadily rising.


Europe: Switzerland -17.61%, Luxembourg - 15.79%, Iceland - 15.18%, Norway - 12.14%, and Denmark - 11.71%.

Link Assistant already makes a nice keyword research/rank tracker tool (runs on Java, Mac/Linux/PC compatible) and so do a number of other companies that you are seeing on page one on terms like SEO software. It is a tough market to enter and it may well be worth offering something different to compete with them.

If there was a MAC native full feature SEO software with Automator support, Id pay for it! Market Samurai is Air app, but generally air apps are so resource intensive. Rather take Mac optimized.

Hmm then maybe air and silverlight are not the way to go. Will need to check what my options are for native MAC programing then
