So, as some of you might know I run a medium/large SEO/Development business, the scaling of it is killing me.

In 2 months I've had new routers, new computers, servers, laptops for employees, business internet installed, etc.

Now what's getting me is writing reports for clients, I always do this free of charge, and many of times weekly.

Right now my method is archaic at best, with just a template in open document and market samurai's data, I write the entire thing out by hand.

From current positions to showing the back links made. Each report takes me about an hour, and I do 10-20 a weekend to have ready on Monday.

I've been looking at SEO Spyglass, I really like the report but the $250 price tag for what's effectively a nice automated report is kind of killing me. I've got no problem paying, I've bought LFE, Scrapebox, XRumer, Market Samurai, 3 servers, etc. Not looking for handouts, just not wanting to throw money into the drain.

My question is, who else uses reports? What's your experiences with software based reports? And what would you all recommend?

Thanks!

P.S. Best post gets a cookie!

In a similar situation, using a mixture of things, did you find something that solved your problem? I find that the SEO Powersuite is far too in depth for my clients to digest we just need position, change in position (if any), competitions, % optimised, how many searches a month, and the areas that need looking at on the site, with an option to exclude some or all of these. Anyone got any suggestions?

Looking into the same thing. Checked out raven tools but wasn't 100% impressed. Would be interested in the opinion of some folks that have done this - something in a very easy, organized layout so non-seo's can easily see "what they are getting" when they are paying me money...

Internet Business Promoter is another option and it carries the same price tag. For about $400 you can white label the report.

I use seo spy glass, and site auditor for the reports to my customers, You can get the program free in the DL section, and not have to pay the 500.00 tag :-)

You can also change the templates to customize them for your business, with your logo, url and so on

We use IBP at the office. Yes the price tag is a little be more on it. But it can pull all your reports and put them into a nice 80 plus page PDF that you can brand as your own.

I love IBTII and SEO powersuite but as Hisnibbs stated they are often to detailed for the
average business owner to understand.

You seem to be writing a hell of a lot of reports as well. My clients recieve
one report on initial consultation which I go through them with on a point by point basis giving them a lesson in SEO along the way. This gives them a
a secure trust in my business capabilities and enough know how to tell everyone and their dog how great this SEO expert they just met is.
There are thousands of so called SEO experts out there sending out reports
willy nilly, clients are the lifeblood of your business and should be treated
with some respect and credibility. I tell them on initial meeting they should
not expect results right away and I would supply their next report 6 weeks later and in that time they have learnt to read and understand the reports
and realise the value of my services.
I am concerned though that you stated you have bought LFE, Scrapebox and XRumer, I really hope you'r not just blasting your clients sites, the jungle is getting more overpopulated everyday.

Most of the time clients aren't interested in reports anyway they just want to see a jump in the SERPS and if they do want one that what your secretaries for.
If you're churning out that many reports you got to be on a good $5/$10k a week or you're doing something wrong.
Remember you run your business not your clients.

Yes some of these programs create reports that the customer will have no clue about nor do they care. But on the other hand I have had landed several customers because they said that our reports looked better and had more information then anyone else and that's why they went with us cause they felt that we knew what we were talking about.
