Hey guys, I wanted to ask you guys a SEO ranking question.

Im currently creating an affiliate based website. And found a great product to start with.. and im going to rank 2-3 keywords for that. 1500-2000 words article, will this rank even if i dont have any other content on the website? Or does the website have to have much more content? Or it doesnt matter about the content outside of the article?

I think if you only have 1 article of 2000 words on your site then you might get thin content penalty.

Personally I would have a few more articles, it makes the site look more legit and also if you have some supporting articles then you can do some internal linking to boost your main article.

Thank you! Makes sense.
One more question
For example if I’m ranking a product called Ranger 2.0, and ranking for keywords ranger 2.0 review, ranger 2.0 scam etc..
And I put all of that in one article 1500+ words, and each topic on a h1 tag, for example Is Ranger 2.0 a Scam?
Can that still rank great for google search “ranger 2.0 scam” even though there are a few more keywords in the h1? Or should it be “Ranger 2.0 Scam”

You should use the H1 tag only once, at the beginning of an article. It should be different from a <title>. In reality, you should use the different keywords in the title, meta, h1, and slug. That is how you tell Google about a topic of your page.
Do not get greedy about the H1 tag, it should not be spammy. The main task of this tag is to inform your readers about the content of your page.
For sub-headings, you should use H2-H3, but again, do not spam it with your keywords.

To begin with, your main target is the good articles. Let Google do his job.

There's no rule in SEO set where you have to have "a minimum of X posts to rank".

However, content is king. People underestimate the importance of content. Look at a high-end website, they blog regularly and have a ton of content. Don't get cheap 1cent a word content, that's for SEO and not homepage quality.
You can start SEO with the articles you have, but it helps a lot if you blog regularly and also internally link to your target URLs/KWs (and to other pages too).

If you're on WP, you can schedule posts to go live at any time and date you want, so you get a constant flow on new content pouring into your site.

Do not underestimate the power of (quality) content.

One thing is most important , try make 100% optimize content and do 100% on page optimization , that's will help 50% in ranking and rest 50% is using off page optimization

Well written and researched content always ranks well. Get some high quality links and you'll be sorted as long as the competition isn't too hard :-)

It'll rank. I just started a new site as well. New domain and everything. Domains probably only around 2 months old.
Published a review article, around 3K words. Ranking on 5th page. It's an easy KW, so not a surprise

I had a few one-page websites with 1k words. One of my websites has 0 content and rank in top10 so yes, you can rank only with this article.

Not enough data to give you a good answer.

You should ask yourself:

1) Are most of the sites targeting the keyword?

2) How optimized are the pages ranking for that keyword?

3) Is it a spammy niche (as brand new websites with 1 DA / PA tend to rank in such cases)

4) What are #1, #6 and #9 ? Seems they're ranking with high compettion sites. This may be because the other sites aren't really targeting your keyword specfiically, and those 1,6 & 9 are and properly optimized their on-site SEO along with building backlinks for that keyword.

and so forth.
