SEO Questions

Can someone please direct me to step 1 of SEO all the way to finish? I can't seem to find the correct order. Or is there a correct order? Anyway, if someone knows a post about SEO for a new website, let me know.

There is a wealth of knowledge on this board. Is this for your business? I would check out www.seomoz.org for some good beginner guides that can help you out and walk through the basics that you need to cover. They have a great "learn seo" guide you should do.

Thanx to both of you...yes, this is for a startup mining advertising business (coal mining) I'm trying to sell ad spots to mining suppliers and vendors...the only thing is I need web traffic to actually buy something from them. Really confused on how to make keywords in H1 and H2 and everything...I have no idea what I'm talking about lol!

Hi man. I used to be just about as lost about SEO as you, but I got over that.

Basically, SEO is just about getting your webpage(or website) ranking for a certain keyword or keywords on search engine.so the first step is of course picking a keyword you want to rank, and hopefully not too hard to do so. if you really want more detailed seo info might as well just head to the freebie sectionsand grab some of those seo reports, like the Google domination method, rankmover by daniel(explains how onpage and offpage seo gets along),aand seo recipe.

you can start on page seo first, after that do off page seo.

Look at the sticky threads. There are plenty of guides right here on this forum that cover the basics of SEO from start to finish.
