Hi All,

Recently i've taken ownership of a website. It is amazon affiliate site.
We are going thru semrush and fixing the issues.

But, i was wondering if anybody can point obvious problems. (maybe the site is black listed somewhere or toxic backlinks)
Our pages have very little indexing ratio. We started to work with agencies, They are building back links for us. But no results so far.

I have a digital marketing agency, I can return the favor. By providing some free services.

No need to offer services for the answers here. The bhw community will give you suggestions for free. And that also very valuable suggestions applicable in your specific case.

The obvious reason for me would be your site´s content is not nearly optimized as it should.

Google has lunch several core algo updates (Product review sites) in the past couple of years (started on Dec, 2020) deeply targeting affiliate content.

Hard to say without auditing your site.

If your site has technical and on-page issues building links to it is counterproductive.

Focus on optimizing your site´s technical and on-page first before worrying about building links.

You can have the strongest, most powerful, and relevant links pointing to your site but if search engine bots are having a hard time crawling and indexing your site none of them will matter.

Thank you for your reply. We are using semrush to check for technical issues and looking at search console. The website is on profile (I didn't want to write it and make it look like I am advertising the site)

We are using rehub theme. Most of the pages are for products. We started to build separate pages, just for articles. And create some internal links to products. Do you think that is the right direction ?

Okay, I don't really see any questions in your initial post.

You're saying that you're running through the site using Semrush, what exactly have you been finding?

I'm assuming that you're doing some sort of toxic backlink audit that can only take you so far.

How are you interlinking to your existing content?

How many pieces of content are already on the site?

These are the questions that first comes to mind if you are thinking of rehabbing or reviving the website that you have taken ownership of.

I suggest you ask these questions/ as well.

Thank you for feedback.

My initial question was "i was wondering if anybody can point obvious problems ?"

1) We went thru Semrush toxic back links and cleaned them

2) Using an external SEO company to build back links for us.

3) We restarted to interlink pages in the following format

- List Pages that has the list articles. Example "star war gifts"
- Specific Articles. Around 200 characters. Example "Star Wars Gifts For Dad"
- List of products pointing to Amazon example "Star Wars Death Star Fire Pit"

4) We have lot of products around 2000. But we noticed their product descriptions are not unique. Most of them are not indexed. We are going thru each one and updating them. Do you think we are wasting time ?

5) We have around 10 articles.

Id start by fixing and optimising your headers (your related products titles are all h2/3s), also run your site through lighthouse, speed is v poor and your getting CLS popped on all your pages.

Without analyzing the site, it is hard to make any comment.
But I can find some probable points of the problem for you.

Check the quality of the content. If the content is just copy-paste or re-written, you may face indexing problem. However, if the content sounds good, apply for Google news approval. I faced indexing problem before. But after Google news approval, I have been able to solve the problem forever.

So try it.

May be your site had really un-related articles and back link profile ,find them and disavow them before adding new back link profile.
