SEO Question...

I am ranking my website in search. All of the content is on the first page, so there are no other pags of the website. Currently I am holding #2 spots in my keywords.

The issue, I want to attack a new keyword, but do not have enough room to fit the new keyword in my website header, and meta description / tags.

I am wondering, if I create a duplicate home page of my website, and simply add a new page to the site with the extension looking like so MyWebsite.com /new-keyword then optimize this page with my new keywords, I figure I will rank for the keyword since it is very low competiton.

will this hurt my rankings?

"duplicate" is never a good thing to do.
Just create an additional page about the new keyword and rank that new page

Creating a duplicate content is bad idea, If you want to target new keywords, then you can create a new post or page (www.yoursite/new-keyword)

Simply made the new page and add meta according to your new keywords and make quality backlinks of that page.
