what? like prices? I'd charge them $200 a month & give them an option to sign on for an entire year for 1200 if they pay 600 upfront.

Talk to them about the power of search, say you're doing this amazingly difficult keyword research, show them the spreadsheet of keywords you researched & saved off of google that took you 5 minutes. Say I believe you could be on the first page of google for many of these keywords with a little help from me mr business owner. & look thousands of people are searching for you but can't find you because 80% of users only click on the first couple links, less than 5% actually go to the next page and .00001% every find your site on google.

I may just be talking out of my ass though.

On a serious note with it...

I recommend that you create a simple outline. List your price, features of service you will give them for the money and a plan of projected roi. Make a plan of what you can and will do for their specific site needs and toss it to them, without going into trade secrets of ' how '...as they don't need to know how you do it, just that you do.

Job security and trade secrets have their place in the circle of financial life as well.

The price idea is good but, I would highly recommend against giving them all of those specific details. State specifically what you can do for them without the steps and information being passed to them as of the ' how '.

They will read the recommedations of what you want to do and then do it themselves and will leave you out. Be aware of what you tell them in the beginning is what will set the point of ' you ' getting the job in the first place or not.

Tell them (the list of businesses you are going to target) that you are from a company called Blueline Publications (based in Liverpool, UK, not the reputable one in US).

Tell them that you are making a 'safety partnership' magazine called Frontline and circulating it to 30,000 homes in the local area. You'll have to ask them first what is their local area just to look authentic.

Tell them they can place an advertisement in the 'safety partnership' magazine for the knock down price of $130 (usual price $200, you're doing a special today) and how this advert would boost their online business greatly, profits etc.

If they agree, record them agreeing so you think you've got them by the balls if they do not pay.

Send them a copy of the magazine with their advertisement in it, just fluff the rest out with bogus company advertisements to make it look 'popular'.

(As you will only have a few copies of the magazine printed only send copies of it to anyone who asks for it).

IF they realize that you are not ever going to deliver the magazine (the cheek of it!) to 2 homes never mind 30,000 or refuse to pay send them threatening letters (threaten court, threaten bailiffs) but don't ever go to court because you won't have a leg to stand on.

You don't need real debt collectors, just make up some fictitious debt collection agency name and use a template letter, there are plenty on the net.

I reckon at least 40% will pay you, easy money.

Good business model, I got suckered with this last year, luckily didn't pay them a penny. They still ring me now. Hello Nathan Stone!

I think the best way is to call them.
I fro one would not hand over £2 a month, never mind £200 a month to a company that sent me an email!

I would offer to SEO some sites of friend etc for free first, to build up a portfolio and stick an SEO by [company] tag on the bottom of each page.

Whilst your at it, why not make the anchor text a unique version of your keyword for each page to increase your own SEO?

If they have a site - send a report using
    Code:
    http://websitegrader.com/
High light what they are missing with the report.

And then recommend them the keywords they should target for.

My advise is dont bombard them with information - go one at a time !!

( Also include some SOcial Media - as its kinda attracts many clients these days )

Stop being so fucking lazy! Seriously, how can you expect to run a business and get people to pay YOU if you can't even write down what you can offer?

It's your service, how can you expect someone else to tell you what to offer?

Yeah, you have to be willing to do the work on every level or don't bother. I wouldn't use you on that count alone. If you don't even want to do that little bit of leg work, I can only imagine what your actual seo would be like based on that.

Don't be that way, man. Step up, do the work and make the money honestly.

Just search in google mate, you will find proposals. Shorter way is contact any good seo company and ask for a quote pretending you have a website. Get the quote, make some changes according to your needs and send it to your client.

Tell them what keyword and country you're trying to target; tell what your maximum payment per month is; tell them if you would be interested in spam techniques which could possibly hurt your rankings. There's a great list of things and here are a few.

Just send all your referrals over to meathead1234 so he can profit off them. ;)

    Code:
    http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/seo-contract-template-a-verbal-contract-isnt-worth-the-paper-its-written-on
Read this twice, then print it out and fap to it. This is a contract, but you can get ideas for the proposal. The proposal is very easy, er, as well as the other things.

If all fails, do a real proposal and get down on your knees and tell them, "Will you.. accept my seo services"? You can give them a promise ring to if you want, this is just to make sure they promise on time payments.
