    Hi all,

I just like to know how you bill your clients for SEO work do you charge one fee for each keyword or do you agree that you first bill will be when the keyword do meet a agreed position at google?
and how much money is normal for each keyword to get ranked?

    Best regards.
    Baldor.

Most work is done on a fixed monthly fee but some is project based depending on the client. The amount is obviously based on the amount of work that needs doing. This takes into account the number of keywords and also the competitiveness.

It depends on how hard it is to rank for one keyword, how long it will take to rank it on first page, and so on. I would charge let's say $100 per month for one keyword with medium competition. But that's just an informative pricing.

It depends on the no of work hours involved per week or per month that you estimate to be used for achieving the target(whether it is 1 kw or more). You can calculate the rate per hour(as per your costs incurred and net profit expected) and then bid or quote accordingly.

I am looking for solvent customers. 2k setup fee and 500$ a month would be typical. That's just for SEO, but graphics and other creative work would be charged higher :)

It depends on the package. Some do link pyramids with definite amount of links to be generated for a one-time payment. Some prefer to give service continuously thus charging monthly payments, usually assures the client to retain the position at top of the serps.

Sell on value, not on price.

Are you selling Kia's or Bugatti's? Define the market you're after and that will also give you a better sense of what to charge your clients. But this business is about results either way but most of the time you do get what you pay for.

This is grelt feedback thanks everyone.
i did read All the post here and my plan is now to sell a pacakage including onsite seo and linkbuilding but in thebasic my customers dont know anything about seo they only interestet in the results :)

A package that cost 1000$ for 3-4 keywords.
Is it normal to send the invoice in the beginning before the work or after the results do show?

Btw. Im selling Bentley's here :)

If you're selling Bentley's, get payment upfront and send an invoice. It's also good to write up an agreement (or contract if you're doing fixed month length services) explaining what you're doing, etc.

yeah i look for atleast 1k a month, if you charge to little you dont have the budget to actually get some work done and make some good gains.

Installation is complicated: we should give an idea of what can be achieved in what timeframe and, possibly, using what strategies and techniques; all this for a certain amount of money.

Once the first targets are achieved, then it gets easier to agree on a fixed monthly fee for maintenance and/or improvement. At this point the SEO knows the client and viceversa, and they both know what to expect from each other.
