On the other hand: using machine lerarning algorythms (that are already implemented in search products) I would never be 100% that they would never give an attempt to try to extract some impartant info. Maybe they do not do it today. Will they still not be doing it in 2016? I am not s sure. All I am sure of, is that they will not, and will not have to broadcast the fact that they are in fact using your data. They have everything to do it, no need for persmission, approval, etc.

So just thanks OP, I had alredy been trying to avoid footprints, but giving some attention to my email too, cannot cause any harm.

They use the data, it is in their TOS. Simply add a link to a new domain in your email and ask the sender to click on it. The new domain will be indexed right away.

Could be a conspiracy theory, but when you think about the importance of Google protecting its brand from being duped, it doesn't seem so unlikely.

This is what I send to any SEO service before I purchase.

Let the people who trust Google continue to trust them. Who cares if they get burned. We need to leave Google 'somebody' to bust, right? Otherwise they will think they haven't done enough.

I have sent an email to a potential client with 5 of my websites yesterday, they were 5 websites that dominated one specific keyword on Google (yes, all 5 of them on the first page). Of course, it was sent by Gmail. This morning, I check my ranking stats, all of those 5 websites was gone!!! I said this can not be happening!! So there are two theories here: either the guy reported my websites to Google (which I don't think so, as it takes a while until Google reviews the reports), or the spam team has their eyes on me (I've built more than 200 websites in the last 2 months :P ) and they are reading my emails. Starting from today, the first thing I'll ask my clients is: "are you using Gmail for your emails?" And if yes, I'll communicate through phone or Skype...
 
Got to admit. I'm guilty of this. But I am so use to using gmail I forgot all about it in the beginning.
 
Its great when they use Gmail accounts. It makes it easy to weed out the people who are unprofessional.

I can't handle that many acronyms! Lol but you just made me search and find Aol's SEO Standards page... So, I think I'm jumpin on that train now. Screw the Goog, I'm going Aol ONLY. Who's with me??
 
G dont give a sh1t about our small seo works and reports and if ur sites rank or not, if they notice u do something bad its straight BAN and done. however its always wise to protect any files with pwd or something bcz of other people who might want to see it but not G, they not searching nobody emails unless ordered by some court or cops. they scan servers for illegal things but not care about pdf report of some links.. maybe i wrong but this what i think

lol, this does always make me do a double take. Just search "web based free email" and you'll find DOZENS of free alternatives to Gmail out there. Gmail is ok for personal stuff... but I've moved away from using it for anything SEO related.

I'm pretty sure you're right for the most part. Doesn't google analyze emails for their ads though?
 
Yeah, once I've asked some SEO people to give me their emails to send them something. 90% of them were using gmails :D There was a case, where one guy has proved that goole is reading SEOs emails and they even penaltied his website: http://godofseo.ca/case-study/webspam-team-actively-monitoring-gmail/#axzz2qwMxyc6p

But seriously, probably a good idea to keep anything to do with personal sites, etc out of Gmail or ANY Google product for that matter.

Ok, I hope everybody understands that google employees don't personally rad your email to find blackhat stuff

You can say: "It's 100% automated process, google just extract links from emails and use that to find blackhatters"

Ok let's ASSUME that (still great BS)

All I have to do is use my competitors website links in gmail letters with titles like BUYING LINKS FOR COMPETITORDOMAIN.COM!!1

And my competitor will be penalized

Do you really believe that?
 
Why take a risk?
Google has and continues to do a lot of shady shit and invades people's privacy, and we only hear so much of it.
Google is a lot eviler than people seem to think.
