I only use Gmail for personal communications.
Not that I use gmail for this, but lord would I love to have that happen to me and then be able to prove they violated privacy laws for such a trivial aspect.
If you think Google catches networks by Gmail you should reconsider how the world works. It's much easier for them to use a human to find PBN's than violate countless privacy laws in every country.
The infamous *****Rank network was using Gmail. 100% of the sites got busted with laser precision.
Google had two options there: run complex link network analysis on billions of sites just to find the *****Rank sites. Or they could read *****Rank's Gmail. What would YOU do if you were Google? Leave your robots wasting kilowatts of power overnight searching for something you already have neatly listed for you?
Some people use Google Docs to display big lists of PBN domains for their clients, name the file "PBN Domains" or "Private Blog Network" and then wonder why their PBNs get de-indexed. I'm not a conspiracy type of person, but why would you provide Google easy access to such information? Just use an alternative service. Hotmail & OneDrive are really sleek.
Let this be a lesson and example for the entire blackhat community. NOBODY should be using any Google products for any SEO related activities whatsoever, the risk is high and the benefit of Gmail is a minimal amount of convenience.
This is no joke guys. Don't get burned.
Do you really think Google is snooping into your email to find your link reports? You're kidding, right?
They don't even have to "search" emails. They have pre-existing tech that crawls ALL your emails to deliver ad's. All they would have to do is run that SAME info through their organic algorithm and look for footprints.
In fact I'd say that if they AREN'T doing this they are stupid. I personally believe 100% that they can and will leverage gmail to improve their organic algo. If not now, then eventually.
If you don't believe me then try this. Create two new gmail accounts. Do NOTHING but writing emails from one to the other with VERY specific backlinks to a certain niche. Then watch as you start seeing ad's that match that niche.
