I'm new to IM in general, I have been reading for months now and have taken action with CPA running some campaigns. I have yet to come up with a highly profitable one, not quite breaking even but I won't stop or give up.

I'd like to have a discussion on how people feel about SEO (your website generating money) compared to CPA (on ad established platforms) or vise versa.

I'm doing CPA right now but I've also heard good things money wise about SEO (building a website to push offers) but it takes longer, yet I've heard about CPA campaigns that bring in $,$$$ a week on established ad platforms.

I guess my question is how does everyone feel about each one and what are the pros and cons of both?

SEO sounds like a whole new ball game compared to CPA on ad platforms and a lot more work to build up a website and than use CPA offers.
    Let's discuss!

Btw, BHW is a great source of information, love this place.

SEO is different from CPA. CPA is a way you make money. SEO is what you do to a website in order to make it rank higher in the search engines. CPA is promoting offers and making people sign up for whatever the offer is and you get money from it. SEO is a technique in which you can promote your CPA offer or whatever else you want to promote.

Two different things. Do a little more research on the two.

I'll edit the post above, I meant to to discuss about SEO and building a website compared to using ad platforms that are already available.

I'm new to IM as well, but I'd say microniche SEO takes longer because of obvious reasons (backlinking). However, from what I've read it seems to be more stable than CPA. CPA seems to be more "quick and dirty."

Well there is no reason for you to not build a landing page for your cpa offers, research, research and then research your "targeted market" find a nice, non saturated corner, then do an adwords campaign. the key is to find a niche that will lead to a good CPA turnover (desperate people for example) and also to find a campaign that pays well, so as your adwords costs don't outweigh your margin. This way there is little need for seo straight away, however developing a seo strategy in the long term would provide better margins of course.

Just remember...with "free" or "cheap" you usually get what you pay for.

My question to you is: why not build your own site to supplement and feed into what the ad platform gives you?
