SEO on Macbook?

You can run vmware on it, but for that suggest to go with 16 GB of ram. Given macs are outdated once they come out, better don't go for the cheaper base version as you will soon realize that its too slow for you. Pretty much all new macs cannot have their ram upgrade anymore.

Since I'm not that rich, I'm thinking about cheaper version. Like Macbook Air 13'
Well think about exactly what uyou want to do.
The air is nice and light , but lacks the power given it is made to be very portable etc. For the same price you will definitely get a better spec PC. Macs are nice in build quality compared to many PC but lack in performance for advanced stuff , e.g. even regular excel is a PITA on mac, you cannot even open a decent sized file as excel mac sucks, for that you need to run excel in vmware (yep I know , but it is indeed faster with less ram in vmware than in mac os)
So
- See what you use daily
- Does it need a lot of ram ? Check sys mon for ram and cpu usage
- Then see which macbook makes sense. MBP is overkill if you just browse etc. but the air would be a pain for excel heavy, video editing etc.. you get the idea.

Well, as I mentioned, most of the things I will do will be about Internet Marketing, mainly SEO. I will be student for some more years so I would use that for school. E.g. projects, notes and other stuff. But I guess I will be using excel too (for KW research for example). I'm not planning using Video editors and I'm not planning playing games either.
The other thing is I'd like to have this Macbook as long as it's possible. I don't want to change PCs every year. So if you tell me "Don't buy Macbook air as you will need new in 1 or 2 years." I wouldn't buy it.
that is what vmware is for. Writing on the win version on the laptop screen while mac is on the external monitor. no issue for that
That is ultimately your call.
. Remember you want to run SEO tools, most are win so you need vmware which will eat quite some ram already to not lag all the time.Now it depends which version of the air you are getting , but I'd say anything under 8 GB you won't be happy with in some time. Always think what you do now and get something that can do more, as chances are you will do that at some point. (again my personal opinion you will know best)

Most of the stuff you need is browser based, you can use a mac and if you need some special software run a windows partition.

I'm using the same thing for years. Mainly for doing SEO and IM shit. It only has 4Gb RAM in it. Did not even think to upgrade or whatsoever. It does what it do.
