It doesnt work like that OP it's all about optimizing your group profile and then posting valuable content

and when you say "doesnt work" you mean that no matter how many backlinks you built it never ranked?

The only way to really do this is to create a community page for your group. These pages get indexed by search most all engines just like profile pages. Just do a write of your group in the About section with proper keywords.
You can then add a link to your group in a post and make it an Announcement or add it as a link to a Sign In button.

I looked into this before, won’t make any difference how many Backlinks you’ve got pointed at your group. Groups are solely ranked according to engagement.

SEO for fb pages works sometimes. But for group it's not possible.
