SEO On A Tight Budget

Hey guys

There's no denying that SEO these days does require time and money.

Let's say you have about $150/month to spend on SEO on a low-mid competitive niche.

How would you spend it to try and rank your keywords.

My mind says content but I know it would be a waste spending money on that since if you are in a niche that isn't too popular or too deep then the no matter how much you pay the writer won't be able to justify with that.

So I would say go for some tools like semrush or ahrefs. Research well put content in your own words and for the above tools gather list of website you can pitch into and start outreaching.

content is something you can buy from yourself if you want best, and cms themes are available for free on many websites. Indeed, you can start SEO with almost no money, just proper knowledge, and consistency.
 
Well Univa mentioned it correctly put the money on tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs or maybe some other because things like content and research can be done by yourself for free if you just put some more efforts.
 
Get a group buy of Ahrefs, get a writer or write your own content.
After you have those done go through Page One Engine (has been shared in the members download section), and follow the on page steps.
 
Some links cannot be aquired for free, so it you have $150 to spend monthly buy links judiciously, such as guest posts in your niche.
All the rest you can do by yourself.
 
You can invest that money in guest posting. Do outreach yourself, write guest post yourself, then pay for only the site owner. Though you will find some site that allow guest post for free.
 
I suggest you to buy content with it, dont buy backlinks. Better to build them self.
 
Great feedback from all. I guess the general consensus is to take care of on-page and use the budget for content and outreach.

What if the niche is one that is rather boring that is difficult to write content for?

What else can be done to increase the backlink profile of the site?
 
you can do most of the seo work by yourself, if you don't have the budget you have to learn to do it on you're own.

that way if you know what works or doesn't then you know what to buy when you have more money
 
Yeah don't buy backlinks it's a complete waste of money. Make them yourself, Quora for example is a very good high ranking backlink to have.
 
As other said, first invest in the Tools. It will help you to know what to do. If you are good at writing, then do it yourself. You can start with it and slowly grow up easily if you know what you are doing.

SEO is meant to be frugal, unless you want to spend. It's ultimately free marketing.
