SEO on a multi product / niche site

Ok I have about 20 products on my site and I have added 4-5 COPIED articles. Now I know that's bad. But my question is - I am planning on ranking on one of the 20 products. Let's say I have 20 different foods for example and let's take two of them - Apples and Oranges. I have a copied article from another site in google for "Apples" but I want to rank for "Oranges" on which I have a unique created article. Will it hurt my "Oranges" rank in google if I leave the copied article for "Apples" ? Sorry if it is a bit hard to understand that's the simplest I could put it.

Remove the copied content. You don't want any duplicate content on your site.

Just like I thought then. I will remove the copied content. Better nothing than copied content.
