SEO Offline Marketing Plan?

This is great. Im going to start something similar soon. Going to give websites for 30-40 dollars. I'll design them using host gators site builder or just get a premium wp theme. Then they sign under my HG aff. Ill be charging to design to get rid of the time wasters rather than giving a free website.

This idea was from the "make 500 a day giving people free websites"

Do you think my plan will work?

Would just like to say a big thank you to everyone that has posted in this thread so far. It's given me lots of ideas and inspiration. As soon as I finish college I'm going to start thinking about trying all of these techniques out.

Offline is definitely the way to go!

Leads: This can be extremely easy or extremely complicated -- depending upon what marketing model you choose. I teach my interns the easy way. That way they have an endless supply of clients and can focus on the "good parts" instead of the lead generating part.

....and I guess you are not willing to share the easy way here ?

Wow excellent advice. Here is the exact flyer(pdf) that I use. Think of it as a physical squeeze page if you will. Maybe this will help some.

Thanks for sharing... typically I've found in doing successful business coaching for years now, most business owners are flat out running their day to day business.

They don't have time or knowledge to keep up with SEO, let alone all the technical jargon...but they absolutely do want a "done for you" system/service.

If you can show them how to make money from using your services without them having to get involved or worry about keeping track, you can charge high ticket prices.

Caution: Never promise clients more sales or increase in profits. That's not your job -- it's theirs. You promise this and don't deliver (which you can't) then you can get sued for non-performance.

Totally excellent advice... stick this note on your forehead, LOL, seriously!

If you aren't promising something.. what is the purpose of a serious business hiring you? If you can't bring him clients what purpose do you serve? And what do you mean by you "can't deliver"?

A serious business will hire you for helping them "find leads." Protip: tell your clients that you will build them a strong internet presence, not that you will "search engine optimize their tags and backlinks." No one will know what you are talking about.

Don't guarantee results, but tell them that you have a successful strategy to get leads from search engines, and that consistent implementation of that strategy has led to consistent results for past clients.

Don't have clients for testimonial purposes? Do some work for free. Small business owners will give you VIP status. This pays off when you take girls out to a restaurant, the chef comes and greets you, and the house pays your bill. You could also get access to an auto shop that will not rip you off, a cafe with wifi that gives you free coffee every day, or any number of other things beneficial to you.

Other strategies used on this site can be ported into offline marketing, too. Black hat SEOs building an email list for affiliate advertising give away useful information like a video or PDF. I like to tell business owners that run print ads how to set up a routing number with google voice to track their ad performance right off the bat. This will show them how much their leads are costing them, and you can then sell them on different forms of advertising that will save them money. Now you're not a "web guy" to them, you're a marketing consultant who clearly knows what he's doing.

I just recently got into the offline biz myself. Here is a great new forum of offliners. It was started by Dexx from the warrior forum.
