SEO of software site with different software

Hello! So I was wondering, that is it possible to work on a software site that writes and shares different articles links to different popular software, and succesfully still rank it in Google with good seo and backlinking? The question i'm having, is is it harder to rank because it can have completely different softwares and keywords for the software pages, a lot different softwares with own pages let's say over 50-100, when a simple site with only one software would target only the specific keyword with optimal keyword density? Hope you understand I'm tired when making this post.

So my site would be more a like like softonic, or any other major software site. Not only targeted one software landing page. Sorry for the text I did not understand myself after reading

I think the competition is fierce in that niche, I know what site you are talking about but anything that includes "free download" is ultra competitive IMO.

So yes, it will be hard to rank, you'd probably need a big authoritative site to compete with the softonics and the cnets of the world. Just my opinion, but hopefully someone proves me wrong

Depends on the websites on the first page of Google. if they are High-authority then it probably going to be hard.
I suggest you check competitors' DA by using Moz extension.
