SEO noob question

Hey guys, you are great. I gust want to ask you this to have some great response to wipe my own doubt out.
Well, what can I do to get on the first page if the first result on the first page has

PR: 1 I: 2 L: 8 Ld: 8 (from seoquake plugin)

it sounded easy to me but I'm having some problems.
Ive just created a linkwheel like the lemonsauce's report teach and we'll see

Could you give me your opinions? What Should i do\have done?

The PR ranking does not matter as much as some would have you believe I have sites that rank on the 1st page of Google and they have no PR.

It really depends on several factors like your keywords, <h1> tags, what type of site you have, the content on your site and of course backlinks.

What helps most is if you get links from high page rank sites that are related to the keyword you want to rank for. Use the keyword in the anchor text of the link. Google also likes deep linking where you link to an internal page on your site instead of the home page.

When you're link building, it's good to have websites with a high page rank pointing to you.

I have to agree with all of the above. I have pages with no or low page rank, and pages on a new site that are on page 1 for keywords. While PR may be taken into account on highly competitive keywords, my experience is that you should not worry about it too much. Keep building backlinks to your site/pages, do some standard seo (h1/h2 tags) etc. Also take a look at those pages/articles on page one, and if they have related keywords try using some of them. I have had some luck recently by seeing what keywords are repeated for pages in the top 10 and spreading them throughout an article post. The theme of your page or article seems to be taken into account by your related keywords. Just my opinion, and some luck I have been having recently.

Create more backlinks with that anchor text, add unique and well formatted content, wait some time for your domain to get aged.
