SEO - Newbie Guide Please

Hello all .. nice to be here. I set up my own rug website 2 weeks ago, still under construction but I need some help please . As a business start up where should I be spending my time and effort in regards, SEO, facebook ads ect ? I am considering buying one of the SEO packages ... would this be a good first move ? Any help much appreciated ? If you could lay out a dummies guide ... like the first top 10 things I needn’t to learn and investigate to have a successful website . Cheers guys . Rob
