Hi BHW members..

What does it mean by SEO myth?

Can you give any examples for such myth?
Have you come across any of it?

Thanks

It means it's passed on like a true fact but it's actually false.

"PBN links will get you 100% penalized" is one I encounter the most.

One of the biggest ones back in the day was that search engines had 2 separate indexes. One for desktop and other for mobile. In reality they were just using different crawler.

Now they really have two.

I guess it's true... many times repeated lie becomes truth :)

You can’t rank with garbage content But fact is I keep hearing lorsen ipsum ranks on top page of google
Agree 100%. But I have to say, if you don't have an authoritive site, it'll be hard keeping those garbage content pages indexed. Sooner or later they'll get de-indexed, maybe they come back a week later, but that doesn't change the fact that they're getting de-indexed along the way...

So true. I have an ecommerce project in Slovakia, and few of my category pages ranks on a second page Google of really worthy keywords with buyer intent. All I have is title keyword + lorem ipsum text fillers and literally zero product in a given category.

Time to add products and texts and optimize for seo haha

'' SEO is all about making backlinks...'' well, we all know that there is much more to SEO than just creating backlinks, right?

“Guest posting died” - LOL, no!

"links are unquestionably not the main SEO factor."

On the off chance that you need your traffic to really accomplish something when they hit your site, it's very not about backlinks.

The ranking is just a single piece of getting changing guests over to your site. The content and ease of use of the site are critical in client commitment.

A myth is something you read online, and test it, and find it isn't true yourself.

Go do your own tests. You won't find out any good myth busters without.

"You should make your primary keyword repeat in X % amount of your article's overall words number" - Professional SEO myth.

One of the most popupar myths is that aged domain rank better. Sometimes it's true, but that's because they usually have backlinks or used to be estabilished sites. Age alone don't matter. If you bought a domain 25 years ago and never used it, it will rank just as a domain bought today.

Another myth I stil see sometimes is that you should use the meta keyword tag. Actually, Google stopped using it in the early 2000s.
