You can manipulate them all just by doing Neg SEO or in general building links. Could be possible you got 100 legit backlinks, if I send 100k spammy backlinks to your site, no metrics will be able to know whether the site and its metrics are shit or real. Or you could also do 301 redirects and push those metrics. Many ways.
As long as Offpage SEO exists, those metrics might be a 3rd party indicator, but they can easily be manipulated and there is nothing you can do except disavowing those links on GSC. Even then, the spiders/crawlers of Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc. wouldn't necessarily pick it up and change the metrics.
So when I look for expired domains or doing any other kinda research, the metrics are not primarily important.
Important are: History of the domain (Archive.org), Anchor texts, Referring domains (+ type of the link for example contextual, outbound links within the backlink, target page of the backlink, etc.) and the niche.
You can't just say: Oh this domain got TF 15 and DA 35, its an awesome domain. Yeah, looks like that, but you have to do a deeper research
