I'm fairly new to the SEO game and would like to get a list of tools and learning references together. Sifting through google can be a bit of a nightmare if you don't know what you're looking for, so i'd like your input as to what, or where is the best resouce for learning SEO. Your top five would be awesome.

The search button. There are plenty of "top 5 best SEO software threads," there's even one from earlier this week.

SEnuke, scrapebox, xrumer, market samurai, and micro niche finder always get the most votes.

The best resource to learn about SEO, is the forum your on. Just click on the White Hat SEO subforum and start reading those threads.

Once you have a good understanding of basic search engine optimization, and have implemented as much as you can, then move on to the Black Hat SEO subforum and start reading those threads.
 
I agree with guys this is the best forum I bump in about SEO, mostly because just reading endless topics will lead you nowhere, and here you can find what people actually do so you can learn from real life examples.
 
Plan on spending some time with SEO as if you were learning a craft. In many ways it's more art than science and cookie-cutter formulas just don't cut it. Plus with BHW there is always some new twist on a theme that you can learn about even if you are a veteran.
