I was wondering how many keywords you guys use. I usually use no more then 10. The reason I'm asking this question is because I read post like "I rank bla bla with my 1 keyword. I always thought a few keywords should be used in the source codes and content.

One of my sites brought traffic in from 9000 different keywords last week. Really how many you target depends on what you're trying to achieve.

I guess I have to multi niche my website to gain more traffic.

It all depends on what your site is about

if you have site that has, lets say, car reviews, then you will have 100 manufacturers times 10 models each=1000 keywords

if you have SUV or sport cars review site, than you will not target that many, of course

Right now I'v just been writing about a topic that comes to my head. I get the keywords from adwords and write. Then I do the normal source code seo. So really I could write about anything.

one single keyword in fact bring 50% of our visitors. the keyword itself is what we are selling. and so the actual number depends on what your biz is
