First off, I'd like to introduce myself on here. This is my first thread but I've replied to some others throughout the day.

I've lurked here for a couple of months now and finally wanted to contribute to the community. I've gained a lot of information daily on here, and it's time to give back. I will answer any questions I can from now on.

With that said, I'm DunderMannen. A 17 year old dropout from Stockholm, Sweden. I have had various entrepreneurial journeys throughout "my days". I've been working sort of full-time online since I was 14, and have made good money since, so I feel I'm able to teach now instead of learn.

Now to the my little project... I've decided I want to try out building a site with articles. Something I have never done before, but I have about a year of previous SEO experience to my various dropshipping sites.

I'm going to write all the content myself as the niche is a hobby of mine, and will also be writing it in Swedish since it'll take a lot longer to rank for if I write in English.

I think I can rank on hundreds of 2-3k searches/mo keywords with only good content and a handful of backlinks. The competition is very low in terms of content, and there is no real giant site that has high DA on the first page.

How am I going about this?
- Find a somewhat aged domain
- Building a wordpress site for it
- Writing 1 article/day for 2 weeks
- Building a handful of powerful backlinks
- Get the bag

Investment?
Since I see almost no good competition, my budget for the project is 100€. This will get me hosting, domain and some backlinks. That's about it!

Using the money I make to rent an office space for me and my homies to hang out in. Wish me luck!

Update:

Found a sick domain with a DR20 from ahrefs. Snagged it for 7.88$ and hosting for 2.88$/mo.
Now I'm all set to start building the site and optimizing the on page stuff.

Goodluck! I'll be starting my own journey soon. seeing a good plan is always nice to see.
Do you think it would be worthwhile to eventually have content in both Swedish and English or are you targeting a more regional KW specific to those living in Sweden?

Actually... now that you say it... Probably both to do both English and Swedish. It's a worldwide niche, so I could basically just translate the articles I write since I'm fluent in both.
Harder competition worldwide though, but wouldn't hurt to try there as well.

Good luck to you too!

Update:
- Built the entire site, just some small SEO adjustments to be made now.
- Finished 2 articles (875 & 1738 words)
- Hooked up google search console & analytics
- Added affiliate links, still some needing to be added though

To do:
- Fix load time of images
- Continue writing an article / day until I have 10-20 published
- Climb to the top of Google

Looks pretty solid and good on you for starting early.
Good luck mate I will be following

Update:
- I'm going to start updating this thread once a week instead from now on.
- Added 2 more articles, but have yet to see traffic start rolling in
- Made load time 1s

I have also decided it won't be possible to make 500€/mo using this blog in Swedish, the search volume is simply too low. To get to this point I'm going to start a second one with amazon affiliate links only. Already found the niche and everything, now I just need to find an expired domain.

Couldn't help but update this...

- Total Articles is now 7, I'm one day ahead still (1 article/day) and I have skipped some days already
- Started seeing very small organic traffic to the site already (!!)
- 3/7 Articles is indexed by Google so far, so I'm very happy with my organic traffic already

Here are the stats so far :)

Following and best of luck mate, start slowly on building backlinks now

Bought an expired domain with 8000+ backlinks and DR/DA20. So I don't know if I'll ever spend time on that tbh... I'm basically just going to write 15-20 articles on this site, then move on to site #2 and build that up.

#2 is a much broader niche so for that one I can write up to 100 articles if I actually make some money with it. For that one, I'm going to be using cdon.com's affiliate program as that site will also be in Swedish. This will be much better than using amazons (which I honestly see as proper shit for newer sites). Cdon shares up to 15% of the sale instead of Amazons crappy percentage.

Will continue updating this in a couple of days. Hoping to break the 10 visitors/day by then :)

Good things have happened since I last updated this. Seeing quite a lot of exposures, but my site is still very low on the rankings. This week, I will write 3-5 more articles with a lot more words. Targeting some lower comp. keywords than those I have targeted so far. After that, the site is complete.

Current word count is around 20k, so after the article addition, I'm looking at around 30-40k.

That should be good enough to leave it cooking up the ranks for a couple of months.

Currently also on the hunt for an expired domain for my new niche (Outdoor & Camping).

Goal is around 5 sites done by new year. Hosting will be completely free in a month or so because I'll be hosting it on my dads own host-server. Let's get this moulah!

Hey and good luck. Do you have some tips about how to find good expired domains? I got burned a couple of times with spam backlinks.

Hey, great to see some fellow Scandinavians making journeys as well.

I have several Norwegian websites, and two of them are authority sites (8-9 years old). However, the income I get from them are quite limited as the market is so much smaller compared to building international sites. That being said, it's quite easy to make native Norwegian/Swedish sites and make a little money as the competition is close to zero in many niches. :)

Lykke til videre!

I just use expireddomains(dot)net. Filter it out with the filter tools on their site, then look for a domain that could match the niche. If I find a couple of contestants, I then paste them into Ahrefs and look through the backlinks a bit to find if they're spammy or not.

Correct! That's exactly why I'm trying to build most, if not all, in Swedish. The competition is so much lower than international, and you can also enter niches which usually are "no-go-zones" for affiliate sites! How much do you typically make on your sites/month if I may ask?

Tack och detsamma! :)

How will you monetize your sites

Various affiliate networks as well as google adsense. If any of them ever get to the 10k visitors/mo mark, I will use ezoic for more money.

You are right. We have the same mindset.

I got one big travel website, making around 1500-2000 NOK/month. And my price comparison website earns between 4000 and 5000 NOK/month. I could probably squeeze much more out of the travel website, but I haven't really focused too much on monetizing it.

But I make my money mainly through Amazon FBA (and my full time job).

Travel website as in like a price comparison engine thing? Or just like articles on different destinations in Norweigan?

Those are great numbers btw, hoping to match those in a couple of months but with double the site quantity ;)
