Let's say you get arrested and your name appears on an arrest log with 30 other arrests in a local newspaper. Charges were never filed because it was a mistaken arrest but the newspaper will not take down the page. Now, over 2 years later, when you google my name + arrested the arrest log is the first thing that comes up. I've used some orm to push the pages down when googling just my name or my name + my city and that has helped push them down to pages 4-5 but how can I push them down if you google my name + arrested? Can anyone completely de-index this?

3 things that work:

1. sue them for defamation if they don't take it down
2. get someone to inject the page or hack and delete it
3. get it deindexed using some NSEO tactics, doesn't really work fast for individual pages

Option number 1 is risky because it can end up costing you tens of thousands of legal fees, and add more unwanted attention to the original problem. Option number 2 I've considered but I don't know anyone that can do that. Any suggestions? Option number 3 I'm not familiar with. What is NSEO?
 
Xjapan, that option is only available to European citizens and for the European version of google. For Americans the option is not available. It's crazy.

Yea, I thought you were able to do that now if its you coming up personally when searched for by name?

If not check in marketplace as there are some providers here for ORM and I am sure they will be able to solve your problem.

PS Please revise title because its really mis-leading.

NSEO = Negative SEO but if the sites you are targeting have some authority you can forget about it..if you don't know what you're doing you'll surely do more damage.
 
You should build some authority content on authority sites (Rebelmouse, Youtube etc., Yahoo Answers, Forum Threads) related to keyword "name + arrested" and clarify readers about the incident. And try to rank those sites on top of first page. Try to grab the top 10 spots with this theme. The keyword would be easy to target since there will be no competitors targeting on it. Few HQ Web 2.0s plus PBNs can do the job for you.

The suggested titles would be: (You need to change)

Name + Arrested by Mistake - Found out the Truth

Was "NAME" really arrested for some Crime? Definitely NOT.

etc....

There is a chance that SEO'ing on 10-15 of such pages will take the place of the current page!
 
You need better planned ORM service. If you choose a professional candidate/agency this can be easily dealt with. it's no big deal really.
Any professional ORM expert worth his salt ought to fix this easily.

All you need to do is submit whatever documents you have exonerating you from charges with a threat of filing motion to profit from your issues. I can't recall the exact appeal. They have 10 calendar days. Most these places try to act all tough until you threaten their advertising stream. Get it done
 
Honestly the correct answer is up there, you have the right to be forgotten, fill out the forms on G and they will clean it off.

The right to be forgotten does not apply in the US and no you can not just submit those documents to the newspaper article for them to come down. They have a first amendment right to keep it up. Some will take it down but most do not care and keep it up.

if anyone can truly deindex it please let me know
