Hello everyone,

Our company is p[lanning to replicate its US website to use in the UK under a co.uk url.

What issues / areas do we need to be changing?
I assume content?
Can we use some of the same images?
Will google penalise us for using the same categories / headers etc?

Any thoughts would be highly appreciated

Cheers

Are you the owners of the US website?

Yes. We can host the url in the UK

Are we talking about company with separate offices in US and now in UK?

If yes,
You should have your respective addresses listed in your site and google business page.
Duplicate image is not a big deal.
Content as in blog contents? Company News? Its better to have separate content for each.

If you have done manual internal link building, then all those links would need to be changed, in order to point to the right link after migration.
And if you have tools or plugin that does not update these links placed, you will also need to perform that change yourself.
Also, if it is a WP site, chances are, when migrating, your database may carry your old site's internal public_html folder links, which may break some of the functionalities apart.
And if you have manually changed the .htaccess (not WP), that should also be looked into as well, otherwise that site may not work.
Most importantly, verify your nameserver, and that it has no pointing issues to the new domain or server, as if there is a minor issue on that, Big G may not even index the site in the process.
