So I hear people say this all over the forum "seo is dead", but I also see people who are on the other side of the spectrum and swear by seo.
So my questions are one, why do these people say seo is dead? Two, if seo is dead, what are the best alternative methods for getting traffic to your site?

All SEO is really just manipulating the search engine results pages (SERPs) in your favour in one way or the other (yes, this includes "white hat SEO"; even the Wikipedia page alludes to this in the first sentence).

As long as search engines exist with their algorithms and factors, SEO will exist.

No it's not! it just evolved mate. If you're referring to the old SEO method yes it is long been buried.
 
People fail to generate traffic and in the end, they marked up with SEO is DEAD.
Because they've tried a lot.
But there is always difference between hard work and smart work :)

Trust me, with my entire experience I can say that SEO Exists :) It's Alive.
 
It will never really come to an end. Still we use Google search for all our needs. There are even still a lot of people researching and mastering the fundamentals of SEO. Until we get a completely different way to search, then we can acknowledge that SEO is dead.
 
seo is dead, media buying is dead, social marketing is dead, we're here just for fun and gags you know.
i get paid to reply your useless posts, that's it.
 
SOme people going with old strategies and they do not get the proper result so instead of trying new,they declare SEO IS DEAD.

SEO is Immortal,try new strategies,rest will be dead.
 
There are so many views on this. yet and still there are awesome tools which help promote a site. I use money robot submitter and backlink beast. Check them out. Also get familiar with link pyramids on fiverr and video linkwheels on youtube using IFTTT.
 
Yea, SEO is dead and it's reborn again.

Whenever people don't get desired ranking and traffic, they say SEO is dead. If they got some desired result then it's alive :)

SEO is not going to die as far as the search engines exist, people who aren't updated with the tactics are killing it. :)

Keep calm and stay focused on what you are doing in terms of SEO!!
 
Seriously, this must be the most frequently asked question in this forum.
Let's say this one final thing.

Optimising Websites For Search Engines Will Die When Search Engine Don't Exist And Websites Are Not Needed!!!!!!!!!

SEO won't die. If it dies then how search engines find Quality sites.
 
SEO = Search Engine OPTIMIZATION.

The word OPTIMIZATION is a verb.

So, if the "Search Engine" still exist, so do SEO. Be it Yahoo!, Bing, Google or maybe Facebook is going for SE, there will always be SEO.

Throughout the years, i have seen that exact thread title a dozen of times after each Google change. Guess what, we are still reading that very title today :)
 
It might be getting a little more challenging, but it certainly isnt dead.

Some people dont realise the opportunity we have right now. The internet is still relatively new, and there is a lot of space for us all to make our mark .. Focus your time on building a quality resource, and it will bring you money forever, and will get stronger and stronger with age.
