Note: I am not a SEO expert, I just have original content & regular updates!

Well, 3 years ago I had two blogs and they were at the top on the Google Search Engine within 1-2 months (Niche specific). 1 of the website had approx. 90,000 alexa rank. Isn't it too high? It took me about 4-5 months to reach 90,000 (approx.) alexa rank. I didn't knew anything about SEO or backlinks at that time. I never used any tool or paid to get my website on no.1 on Google.

The website was - Link removed (Someone else registered it now)

Facebook Page- Link removed

Source: Link removed

So, how did my website get high rank in short time?

Answer is simple- Original content + Daily/Weekly updates!

Also, I never had any backlinks from .gov or .edu websites. It's just a myth that .edu backlinks are strongest. If your website is regular & original, it will surely get high rank!

I manually advertised about my website on several forums, blogs. They all were related to my niche. I had no clue about ******** & nofollow backlinks at that time. The visitors themselves created backlinks for my website by sharing on websites, social network etc.

I've created this blog today (4 September 2014) and I'm going to update it weekly. I will try to top the Google ranking again. I will post daily/weekly statistics of my blog. Everything- where I advertised, no. of daily visitors. I will do same thing that I've done earlier.

Starting this journey to the top by submitting the website to the Google- Link removed

I think you mean .gov domains not .org.

and yes updating few times a week + good original content helps

Yea.. Thanks for correction! Many people just make the website & start doing SEO work. Adding a 'blog' to the website and updating it daily is like adding gold to website!

So you had a site that you fluked on and received probably 10,000+ visitors per day.
And you let the domain expire.

And you're gonna do it again by manual advertising on forums.

You won't be so lucky this time.

If original content works, then we all have a confirmed strategy to rank a site.NO more guess or gambling on seo service packages.

i agree that unique content and frequent updates definitely help.

Hopefully you will succeed with the new venture

Some of the tactics from a few years ago aren't as effective now, though I wou;dn't put regular updates and original content in that boat.

The website had 30K+ daily visits and about approx. 90 online on average (I think so). I changed the URL of my blog and thought google would automatically redirect the users to to new address. But it didn't happen instead the old blog got registered by someone else in few minutes. I tried to contact him but found no information whatsoever.

I had 2 blog on top Google rank so that's why I'm trying on 3rd blog. I still think Original content & regular updates are they key to success!

It is true that original content are helpful to get page rank but I don't think it is the only way to get page rank. As far I know .edu and .gov backlinks are really effective to get page rank.

Ranking on google on 2014 and beyond is based on Domain authority more than anything else, so Google is actually confuse the world, so there is no ranking formula. The reason why?
Get more and more attention to their PPC network
Period!
