I think SEO is also a Race..

If my keyword ranked First page on Google.
Competitor Site disappears from First page on Google.

The opponent afresh SEO to bring previous rank..
I continue doing SEO for Stable ranking..

Yeah you have to maintain your site for consistent rankings.
You need to concentrate on Quality traffic and On page methods your meta description and Titles.
Concentrate on your keyword and build backlinks according to the competition.
 
Right man, SEO is a race, Google is a judge.:cool: Keep moving forward with the best strategy and HQ links to grab the position.
 
It's not a race at all, it takes time to do it properly.

Automating seo ( if that is what you refer to by racing ) is just what Goggle loves to see then slap into oblivion.

Quality not quantity!
 
You need to make quality content and baclinks to win your competitor in the SEO Race

Yes, You can always keep your targeted ranking by focusing the great contents of your website and high authority link building strategies.
 
But my self SEO is an SEA because I have a boat that is called Content. If you get a quality boat that will be an easy journey in SEA otherwise competitor boat will reach his desired location. our boat will slowly pass or it will sink.
 
SEO is an art, first of all. It takes time to create a masterpiece. Though it worth it and can live in ages.
 
That's right. Without continuous improvement and maintenance everything falls into degradation. So it's wise to use at least Google Analytics to check the engagement factors and to monitor your rankings regularly.
 
Yes SEO is a rase.. If you are doing SEO to rank on first place then competitors are also doing that.
 
Maybe another good question would be: what's not a race in IM?

Trying to show up in search engines (plural for the sake of irony here) first or on first page
Spotting a market / niche microniche first
Getting to a certain critical mass of users first
Placing your video on top of the others on YT to be first

And so on...
 
There are lot of competitive niches and competitive kws so SEO is race
