I hope it is taught by people who have actually have or have made an income from internet marketing.

It would be silly for a proper university to offer papers in SEO - that would be more suitable for a trade or technical college.

However there is tons of SEO relevant stuff that you can study at a university that would be far more useful for doing hardcore SEO than any shitty "SEO" course, such as:

* graph theory & discrete maths
* information processing & information retrieval
* (applied) linguistics
* marketing
* statistics

Within academia, search engine related stuff is usually found in the information retrieval department, although it crosses over into all kinds of linguistic, statistical and other math related fields.

You won't find anyone who's good at SEO teaching it - they will be too busy making money!

In a typical tech university course, most of the stuff tought in 1st year are outdated by the end of 3rd year.

When Google changes more than 300 algorithm changes per year, a uni can't keep up with it.

If you're really serious about it, learn computer science and join Google as an engineer.

I don't see the point in getting a qualification in SEO. You wanna spend all that time and money on a qualification so that it makes your CV/resume look good when you apply for jobs? Why would you want to apply for a job and work for somebody else, when you have all that SEO knowledge?

You can learn just as much, for free, apply the knowledge yourself and be your own boss.

None ive come across, I wish there was, better then majority of the nonesense they teach.

these do a nice course you can do as you please if it makes you feel better to have some sort of qualification

SEO is gaming google. SEO is trying to influence the serps. SEO is not making a website good for the people and search engines anymore.

Well maybe not SEO in the way you think of it, but knowing how to work with Twitter, Facebook, and overall how your website is shown online is legitimate and will be taught soon in school. I know University of San Francisco was doing heavy advertising for their courses. I'm sure in about 10 years it will get to the degree and masters point as well.
