SEO - How Important Are Domain Names Currently?

From what I heard emd isn't as helpful as it was before but I don't see how it can hurt either

Go through this link. For me, Domain name plays an important role in seo, if a domain will be keyword specific, we can easily promote and get rank well in google.

There is one advantage of having EMDs - you can use organic links only and still have your keyword in them. That's the main power and advantage of them.
As mentioned before - more than one hypen is no-no. In all honesty I always try to avoid any hypens and always to pick .com domain - it helps a bit.

Google does not like lengthy exact match domain names which you are owning. Also the ones with more than hypen can go under the scanner.
