SEO Hosting Fail?

Persnaps I'm missing something here, but If I have an seo hosting account with, exempli gratis, 35 separate C-class IPs, and they all come on one whm with one set of nameservers, isn't it pretty much the 2nd easiest thing for Search to look at (next to the IP itself) to map my network?

I was sorta blindly assuming until now that registering private nameservers hid the NS IPs, but no, yes?

It would have to be a pretty bug coincidence for my five sites on separate IPs that are linking to my one site on another IP to all happen to be hosted on the same nameservers. I'm thinking Search may be just a little smarter than that if they bother to look.

But then again, maybe I'm missing something here. School me if so pleasethankyoukthanksbye.

Why do you want to hide the NS ip? I don't get it... If you have for example 50 c-class ip's and use for example the Nameserver from your domainhoster (i.e. Namecheap) how do you want to get detected by any SE or other "enemys" since they are shared. If you use your own NS everybody can see what other domains your NS routes, thats fact

e: my opinion, just hide on a shared NS, if you are afraid to get detected by someone..

My biggest concern with SEO hosting is the fact that you're going to have say 30 different IPs on a network, and those 30 sites are all linking to your money site. Well say you have 100 people using the same IPs. You now have 100 people with the same 30 IPS going to one site. Seems like a footprint to me.

It depends, if you got shared or dedicated ips.

I prefer to use my domain registrars for nameservers rather than ones provided by hosts. GoDaddy for instance allow you to use their nameservers even for domains not registered with them. There's gazillions of sites using mns01 domaincontrol com and mns02 domaincontrol com as their name servers after all.

That way, you can have as many different IPs as you want.

You'll be hosting 35 domains there, right?

You can assign one ip to each domain.

Make private ns's like
ns1.domain1.com
ns2.domain1.com
for one ip

then
ns1.domain2.com
ns2.domain2.com
for the other ip.

and so on.

Host the 35 websites on individual ips, with their own private nameservers. Each nameserver would have it's own class c ip.

Am I missing something here or does it sound alright?

Yeah but that's a footprint in and of itself - most sites don't host their own nameservers, just bigger higher traffic ones. So if you've got a money site and you have 35 tier 1 sites linking to it, all of which host their own nameservers on non-redundant IP addresses... then that stands out like a sore thumb.

Because as remotely possible as it might be, 50 sites on bluehost (e.g.) all pointing at my money site looks like a footprint. I'm the clumsiest mathlete in the gym, but what are the odds, considering that there are 350 million sites on the Internet +/-, and bluehost hosts - generously - 5 million? So bluehosts's 1.2% share of the world's sites would equate to roughly 6 of those 50 sites or in other words fuckall percent in G's eyes.

And no host other than godaddy (which owns 24%*) has a market share larger than 2.x%.

And I was liking Biggles' thought of just keeping the nameservers at godaddy until I started thinking about these statistics. Even Godaddy would, on average, only host 12+/- of those 50. Any time you buck these averages you're laying down a footprint. To keep it on the DL you'd have to host 12 of them at Godaddy, and the other 38 spread out among ten different hosts.

As for your second point, you're thinking I meant one private NS for all my 50 sites, but I meant one for each, like Corrupt says below. However, what gave me pause and got me posting this thread in the first place was that I suspected, and suspect even more so after reading savvypro's posts (on the other threads) about G's network equipment, that private NS's are a flimsy screen that G sees right through.

*These numbers are for domains, not hosting. As there's no way to tell hosting numbers, this is the best guess we have. Godaddy's share of the hosting market is probably a lot lower as most people see right off that, like burgers and drinks at mcdonald's, domains are the value and all the other shit they throw at you is where they make their money.

It seams that a thread where I call bull sh*t (without saying bull sh*t), on the claims by one of the old BHW sponsors, who were offering SEO hosting - is no longer available. So I've created a thread which covers everything in one place...
