I'm new to blogging and trying to understand how SEO works better in 2026. There is a lot of mixed advice online and it's a bit confusing for me. Can anyone here share a simple SEO guide for beginners or what I should focus on, in the initial stage?

SEO is basically about helping your site show up on google. you do this by using the right keywords, writing useful content and making your site easy to read.

It about getting the basics right first. Focus on writing helpful content for a specific audience, using clear keywords naturally, and making your posts easy to read and structured with headings.

Start by targeting low-competition keywords and creating content that genuinely answers what people are searching. Get the basics right like titles, headings, internal links, speed, and mobile-friendliness. Stay consistent, update your content, and build natural backlinks over time.

Hey guys,

I’m new to blogging and currently trying to understand how SEO actually works in 2026. There’s honestly a lot of mixed advice out there — some people say backlinks are everything, others say focus only on content, and some talk about AI tools doing everything automatically. It’s a bit confusing

So I wanted to ask the experienced members here:

If you were starting from scratch today, what would you focus on first?

From what I’ve learned so far, these seem important:

  • Keyword research (finding low competition keywords)
  • Writing helpful, user-focused content
  • Basic on-page SEO (titles, headings, internal linking)
  • Site speed and mobile optimization

But I’m not sure what actually moves the needle in the beginning.

Also:

  • Are backlinks still important in 2026?
  • How much content should I publish per week?
  • Is it worth using AI tools for content or should I avoid them?

Would really appreciate if you guys can share a simple roadmap or what worked for you when starting out.

Thanks in advance

Keep it simple pick a niche, target low competition keywords, publish helpful content consistently, and build a few quality backlinks. Basics done right work.

I think to start doing SEO, you have to learn how to write SEO content that matches the keywords you've embedded to attract viewers and make the website easy to read and visually appealing with specific structures.

If you are new to SEO in 2026, keep it simple. Focus on writing useful content in one niche first. Understand basic keywords, improve your titles and headings, and make your site fast and mobile friendly. Stay consistent and avoid quick tricks.

I think you should start with simple, learn keyword research, write helpful content that matches search intent, keep your site fast and clean, use basic on-page SEO, and get a few natural backlinks. Consistency matters more than tricks.
