Hi BHW Members & SEO Experts,

In the Google search console, My blog web pages show 5k impressions but clicks are very low only 120. How I can increase clicks for these blogs? can any expert help me out with this.?

Your reply will be appreciated.

Hi, try to put yourself in the visitor's shoes.

First of all, what is the keyword used for your site in the SERPS?

Then, why are you going to click on one site more than another? Often, it's because of the meta description.

Try to see what the sites in front of you have, and adapt your meta to make people want to click on your site rather than theirs.

it's a suggestion, not the solution!

Your CTR is 2.4% which is decent IMO. You can improve your CTR by writing catchy descriptions but I would suggest you to target more and more new keywords.

Check out your rankings for each keyword and then optimize your content for those keywords. It won't necessarily make much difference but it is the least you can do.

Impression doesn't mean you are ranking for the keywords. So 1st do a in depth audit to see which keywords are ranking where. Try to optimize the low hanging one 1st then start analyzing competitors ranking better for the keywords which needs boost.

Higher you rank in Google, better will be the CTR.

Impressions doesn't mean you're in the top position to get a click. It just means your link was generated in search results and supposedly your link was visible to the user. You can be several pages back and get an impression but zero chance of a click. If you're on page one, you're pretty much always getting an impression although most clicks land with ads or the first three organic results.

IMO if you're not on page one for a keyword you care about, your goal is to get on page one. Impressions don't matter past page one for most searches. If you're on page one, you have two goals. One, to move up to the top. Two, to make your information in the serp as attractive as possible to the user. That's when I would start to care about tweaking the description, title and image so people don't want to scroll past my url. If you're on page two or three, chances are good nobody will see or care about whether you have the most enticing description.
