Hello everyone,
so I made a web application that is primarily concerned with uploading and downloading files - a file sharing tool. It has pretty much one page and not really a lot of content - composed mainly of a form which you upload files to. Pretty similar to services such as Mega, etc.
Every SEO guide or tutorial I read is primarily focused on sites which have a lot of textual content, e.g. blogs. Obviously this isn't the case with my web app. So here comes my question.
Given that this is a side-project for fun, with no ads and not really for profit, how to get traffic to my website for little or no cost? I tried obvious methods such as spamming social media like reddit, but if they do not ban me outright, there's no effect at all - 100% of the traffic is bots and vulnerablity scanners, there are zero genuine views. I'm not talking about millions of views per day, but more of a ten or twenty - pretty much anything more than zero.
Thanks,
