Hello bhwers,

i need a little help... i have several e-shops (magento) and they are all hosted in sub domains. Is this affecting my ranking? if so, how?

What is the best way to improve my seo for subdomains? or should i definately get a a new domain for each store?

tnhx!

wanna know this too coz I wanna make site for each city like :

city1.domain.com
city2.domain.com

Do I have chances to rank for this?

in my opinion subdomains have become useless since there was a heavy missuse by spammers a few years ago.

a good example for how useless subdomains are is ebayclassifieds.com

none of the subdomains has any advantage in ranking.

from my local searching I saw some subdomains rank for low competitive keywords , 50-300 BLs etc.

Subdomains are not that good since a long time. Just telling you....why you are not moving towards .info domains?

yip, sobdomains don't rank that well at all

useful for re-directs and thats about it

I have some subdomains doing pretty well, but are few years old and they are like "authority" in their domain, don't know about the actual facts but I keep creating subdomains with confidence.

I have never experienced that subs would rank worse than others. I dont bieleve it at all.

A good example of subdomain optimization is from about dot com

Word on the street is that Google treats the subdomain the same as subdirectory so there is no advantage or disadvantage. Of course your own individual mileage may vary depending on age, SEO and backlinks.
