seo for https:// sites

Hello BHW,

I have client who want to do SEO for one of his https:// website. But it seems like there will be problems for SEO with secure domain.
The whole Website have https://.

What your opinion on this kind of website? how to do good SEO for this?

how does that affect SEO at all? It just means the data that transits through the site is encrypted... or I am missing something?

I found that many website get penalties for duplicate content having this kind of domain. take a look the article - http://www.searchenginejournal.com/seo-for-http-and-https/15055/

Never had any issues with https sites, just make sure you have a working 301 redirect in place from the http version of the url and you'll be fine

there is no difference between promoting http or https site.. i even think https contributes for better rankings as it brings more trust in google, like domains that are registered for more than 1 year do better..

Get a web designer and SEO expert to analyze that, if the site is redirected incorrectly it will affect the off site SEO.

Yes 301 working for whole website.
I can not see top SERP's which is secured with https:// Domains. is that a indicator telling google not give important as he give to http:// websites.

I have a https and it is doing great for lots of keywords. Make sure you link to http and you will do fine If they ever take off the https and all your links point to http well you see where Im going with this.
