Hey guys, I run a website creation company and I want to also provide SEO for my clients but the thing is I don't have any experience in this field. I was wondering what you guys think is the best way to do this? I think that the best way of doing this is by outsourcing it to someone here. Due to my limited knowledge in the field, can you guys give me some pointers on the types of services that I should look to buy? Thanks!

Wha kind of clients. If they are brick and mortar business, you need to learn local SEO. If i is a global e-commerce site, then you need to learn SEO for e-commerce.

SEO at it basic levels is very similar, (on page is on page no matter the discipline) but each arena of SEO has its own peculiarities.

Mostly around here, people think SEO is backlinking, I would avoid those people until you learn more on your own.

Backlinking can rank, or destroy any sites ranking.
 
Yes it's depends on your clients sites. Like "Techxan" said there are different ways to promote our website. If it is a real business website then the marketing strategy is different from affiliate sites. You can PM me if you need any help.

You have to be very careful when outsourcing SEO. In addition to what the others said about different niches within SEO, there are a lot of services out there that will just ruin sites.

Always do test orders. It will cost you some cash, but it will save your clients and make you more in the long run.

+1 - great advice, I found this out pretty quickly when I started. I always say get to know who you're working with, place test orders, you won't regret it.
 
You better place test orders to test sites, not client sites.

There are so many challenges with what you want to do.

How can you win a customer over when you don't have a damn clue?

What if your appointed SEO provider is cat fishing?

If anything goes wrong you will be held responsible and not the provider.
 
John that's exactly my problem and I don't want to just blindly walk into this kind of stuff. It's going to be my ass on the line in the end. Do you think that I should just learn SEO by myself through BHW rather than outsource?
 
Just create a fresh content first for your website. You know, content is the king. Then share your website, article in social network to get more traffic. This is the easiest way for anyone who does not have much experience.
 
Okay, should I buy social network sharing services or should I just do this manually? Are there any products/threads that you guys would recommend I read in order to get an understanding of local seo?

This is going to end badly.

Local SEO is not done with social media and backlinks.

If you are going to do local, you need to learn about on page SEO, citations, content marketing, review acquisition, and strategic backlinking.

Forget all that IM SEO.
 
Exactly! plus consider the niche. if you're looking to go strictly whitehat, at least educate yourself in the basics Moz is a good resource to get your feet wet. A/B test everything.Just like when you design. the wrong approach could destroy everything..
